Samir Shah, SVP and Chief Information Officer, won the ChicagoCIO ORBIE Award for FBIN in the Large Enterprise category. The ChicagoCIO ORBIE Awards honor chief information officers who have demonstrated excellence in leadership.
At the April 11 awards ceremony, Samir stated, “This honor goes to my Fortune Brands team. This award is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and passion of my incredible technology and business teams.”
Samir was selected in recognition for the significant amount of complex and transformational work the IT team accomplished in 2023, in partnership with teams across the business, including:
- Making sure our systems, data and people are connected and secure within our new, aligned Fortune Brands structure to increase productivity and efficiency, and drive forward our business strategy;
- Developing the technology and cybersecurity strategy encompassing 180+ systems to integrate Emtek and Schaub luxury hardware, and the U.S. and Canada Yale and August smart residential locks;
- Continuing to support key business initiatives, including work to improve our customer and consumer experiences with our brands and supporting supply chain transformational work with Cloud ERP implementations; and
- Completing the backend separation of technology assets coming out of the December 2022 spin-off of our Cabinets business, helping to ensure the new Cabinets company could be successful, and enabling the Fortune Brands Innovations team to better focus on our brightest opportunities.
